EPL Parlay Pt.1
Liverpool ML/Arsenal ML (+102)
Backing a two team parlay between Liverpool and Arsenal that should see their way through against two struggling backlines.
Starting with because they are the earlier of the two games. Liverpool has won 5 of their L6 games and is getting back arguably their best player in Mo Salah. It is unlikely that he starts but he will be coming off the bench if he is needed to close out the game. Back on 11/12 when these two teams faced for the first time this season Liverpool won 3-0 accumulating 17 total shots and 10 on goal.
Next, I know Brentford is a different team this time around with Ivan Toney back from suspension but I don’t think that will make a difference. Liverpool has conceded 1 goal or less in 8 of the L10 games, their defense has been top tier, allowing less than 1 goal per game this season. 24 games played, just 23 goals conceded.
In the last 7 games Brentford has allowed a combined 17 goals, and average of 2.4 goals conceded per game. They have also allowed 2+ goals in 6 of the L7 games which doesn’t bode well against this Liverpool offense. Averaging 2.3 goals per game and scoring 2+ goals in 22 of their L30 games dating back to early August and 2+ goals in 5 of the L6.
Liverpool is clearly the better team in both sides of the ball and Brentford would need a complete shocker to defeat the Reds even on their home turf.
Onto Arsenal who is coming off a 6-0 beating against West Ham last Sunday. Not playing in the Champions League this week has allowed Arsenal to get almost a full week off in between games which is huge for them. Not saying that’s going to win them the game but it will help come the second half.
The Gunners offense has been clicking going 4-0 in their L4 games and scoring a combined 16 goals in those 4 games, good for an average of 4 goals per game. Their defense has been equally as good and some may argue it has been better. Conceding just 2 goals in those L4 games and just 22 goals all season, 0.91 goals allowed per game which is insane. Lastly, they have allowed 1 goal or less in 8 of the L10.
Burnley on the other hand has been dreadful, dropping points in 21 of the L24 games and losing 17 of the L24 games. Allowing 2+ goals in 6 of the L8 games (an average of 2.1 goals per game) seems like a nightmare facing this in form Arsenal front. Additionally they have also conceded 2.1 goals per game this season dating back to 8/11.
These two teams are headed in opposite directions at the moment, and even if Arsenal slips up they are miles better on both sides of the ball to get back into this game. Both teams should cruise, but this is the Premier League where miracles happen. GL.
