Alcaraz/Nadal to win 2-0 (-110)

Taking Alcaraz and Nadal to win two sets to zero against Greiekspoor and Koolhoof tomorrow afternoon (7/30). They are the third match of the day so unsure of the exact start time.

Alcaraz and Nadal took down the Argentinians in their first doubles match as a team on Saturday, winning in two sets 7-6 and 6-4. They played a good match with some spectacular highlights, but they honestly didn’t wow in my eyes. I know it was their first competitive doubles match together but with the amount of talent on that side of the court I would have expected a larger margin of victory. Regardless a win is a win.

They move on to face Griekspoor and Koolhof from the Netherlands who won their first-round matchup pretty convincingly 6-2 and 6-3.

What’s difficult about handicapping doubles tennis is there’s generally not much data out there especially when you have a pairing like Alcaraz and Nadal. Two guys who play singles but due to the special occasion are teaming up as a doubles pair.

My basis for backing then to win 2-0 is the same as it was when I picked them to win gold at +380. It’s a pairing that consists of the greatest clay court player ever and currently the best tennis player in the world, it’s just hard to see then losing.

They now have a round 1 match under their belt, so they should be feeling a little more confident coming into round 2.

Lastly, they’re playing Griekspoor who Alcaraz just defeated in two sets yesterday in the singles draw and is just 4-4 lifetime at Roland Garros. If there is an X factor in this match it will be Koolhof who is currently ranked 20th as a doubles player and was the #1 play just two years ago.

If someone is going to throw this bet off it will be Koolhof, but regardless I trust the talent and experience of the Spaniards to get the job done in two set. GL VAMOS!
