Packers at Eagles

NFL

Eagles ML (-130)

After a thrilling opening night between the Ravens and the Chiefs we get another game in Brazil between the Packers and the Eagles, in what should be equally as exciting.

As many of you know, I am a Philly guy, but I will not let that cloud my judgement on making an educated pick for this game. Although I am backing the Eagles to win this, it does come with some solid justification in my eyes.

These two teams couldn’t have finished last season on different trajectories. Starting with the Eagles, after winning 11 of their first 12 games, they ended the season just 1-5, including a playoff loss to the Buccaneers. The Packers on the other hand finished the season winning 7 of their L10 and making it to the divisional round of the playoffs before losing to San Fransisco. Jordan Love played like the player the Packers drafted and I honestly have really high hopes for him, I think he is going to have a good season. We all know the struggles the Eagles had with coaching, but their talent is undeniable and that’s why I am backing them tonight.

Over the offseason the Eagles brought in Kellen Moore, ex Cowboys and Chargers offensive coordinator, Jahan Dotson from Washington, as well as Saquan Barkley. The combination of these three will be massive for this offense that already has Jalen Hurts, AJ Brown, Devonta Smith and Dallas Godert. I think the Eagles have the best offense in the league, in terms of sheer talent, it will be up to Moore to turn the gears.

It is always tough handicapping the first game of the year especially when it is being played in another country like this one, but I like Philadelphia to come away with a win in South America. They averaged 25.5 PPG last season, 128.8 rush yards per game, 4.3 rush yards per attempt, 7.2 pass yards per attempt and their offense only gets better with the offseason additions. I will take my chances with this star-studded offense. GL.
