Manchester City/Brentford

Haaland 1+ Shot on Goal/Man City ML (-167)

Keeping this one short and sweet because this may be my favorite play of the weekend, it is a no-brainer.

As everyone knows Erling Haaland has been on a tear through the first three games, he has 14 total shots, 10 coming on goal, and 7 goals. Haaland has more goals than some clubs do, I know we’re only three games in but for a player to have more goals than your whole team combined there is a problem. Brentford is one of those teams, with just five goals on the year, two goals behind Haaland. I am expecting him to have another good game on Saturday at the Etihad.

Despite me backing City -1.5 and them being so favored, Brentford has not had that bad of a start to the season, especially considering Ivan Toney hasn’t played a game. Toney their best player didn’t play the first two games and then transferred to Saudi Arabia for reference. Brentford beat Crystal Palace 2-1, lost to Liverpool 0-2, and beat Southampton 3-1, pretty good numbers and not a team I would typically fade but it’s Manchester City they’re facing.

Man City has started the season 3-0, with a 2-0 win over Chelsea, 4-1 over Ipswich, and 3-1 over West Ham. Covering the spread of -1.5 in all three games and conceding just one goal. Could Brentford continue their offensive success in Manchester? Sure, but I think this City defense will come out strong and show Brentford similar to what Liverpool did to them. City win this 3-0. GL.
