La Liga Parlay

Atletico Madrid ML/Real Madrid ML (-130)

Backing a two leg parlay between the two Madrid teams that I bet this past weekend, Atletico and Real. Atletico plays Wednesday at 3:30 PM and Real plays Thursday at 3:30 PM, so you will need to have a little patience for this but it will pay off.

Starting with Atletico because their game is first on the list. They are fresh off a really convincing home win on Sunday against Girona, winning 3-0 while holding less possession, having less shots and less corners than their opponent. Atletico were super productive off the chances that they had. This was a similar story in the season opener against Villarreal, where they had just 9 total shots, 4 on goal and managed 2 goals in the 2-2 draw. Despite having less in all major categories against Girona they looked really good, Girona didn’t really threaten more than few times.

They now face Espanyol, a team who has yet to score a goal and has managed just 6 combined shots on goal through two games this season. A step down in completion from their first two games in my opinion, this should be the easiest game of the first three they’ve played this season. I am expecting Atletico to line up with some combination of Sorloth, Alvarez and Griezmann up front while having Lino, Koke and Gallagher in the mid field. A really good looking front half in my opinion, and I hope he goes with Alvarez and Sorloth up front together, I think they can cause some problems.

At home Atletico should have zero troubles coming away with three points this afternoon. GL.

Onto the second leg of this parlay, normally backing Real Madrid this would be the easier of the two legs but I honestly think it will be the more challenging one. Real were coming into this season with expectations in the stratosphere and anything less than 5+ goals a game would be considered a failure to most fans, so I think we have to cut them some slack. They have started the season 1-1-0, with a draw coming in the season opener to Mallorca and a most recent 3-0 win against Real Valladolid. The numbers aren’t bad though, through two games they have managed a combined 14 shots on goal,30 total shots, and 13 corners while netting 4 goals. It is going to take some time for this team to gel together but this isn’t a horrible start, I still have tons of faith in this team.

Unsure how Ancelotti will line them up but expecting Mbappe and Vini up front for sure with some combination of Valverde, Tchouameni, Modric, Rodrygo and Brahim behind them. As we all know Jude Bellingham will be out until the international break after picking up an injury to his leg, sucks to not have him but this team has more than enough guys to step up, I’m not overly worried.

Madrid now faces a Las Palmas team that has allowed a combined 4 goals, 10 shots on goal, and 28 total shots in their first two games. That is a lot of offense to two sub par teams, and now they have to try and defend against the talent this Madrid side will bring. Madrid beat this Palmas team 2-0 and 2-1 in both matchups lasts season and I am expecting more of the same come Thursday afternoon.

Madrid get their second win of the season and move closer to Barcelona at the top of the table. GL.
