Florida St/Georgia Tech

Many of you may not be able to get this line due to an odds boost I had on Fanduel but almost everyone should have some sort of odds boost for college football week one they can use to bring the odds in the plus money.

This is probably the hardest bet of the week to handicap because it’s the first game of the year and college football is always hard in the beginning of the year because of the massive change of personnel from year to year. But we will ride anyways, I feel confident in Georgia Tech to keep this within two possessions.

GT had a top 25 rushing attack last year and returns starters on the offensive line that played 67% of snaps last season. The combination of King and Haynes is what is going to win them this game, especially against a Florida State defense that struggles to tackle. Georgia Tech will also have to run the ball because FSU has an incredible pass D and returns the majority of last season starters on defense.

While I mentioned FSU returns the majority of starters from last season they did lose their best player in Jordan Travis to the NFL but were able to replace him with DJ Uiagalelei, the former Clemson and Oregon State starter.

Georgia Tech could be in some trouble if DJ plays like his former Clemson self, I already mentioned they have all the pieces in place on both offense and defense and he could be the last thing they need. I expect both teams to relay on the run game, especially with it being the first game of the year and with a new QB for FSU.

Georgia Tech will not win this game outright in my eyes but I think they will do enough to keep this close and cover the double digit spread. Main thing will be is if their offense can keep up with the Florida State offense, and I think they will be able to. GL. Go Seminoles.
