Saw this line last night and it kind of confused me, I know Creighton is on the road and fresh off an OT loss to Providence but I still think Creighton deserves more respect than 1 point against Xavier.

Since the ass whopping that UConn gave Xavier on 1/28 losing by 43 they have won three straight against St. John’s, DePaul and Villanova but those three teams are nothing to write home about. They are a combined 29-40 on the year, Creighton is a different caliber than those teams.

We had a preview of this game on 1/23 with Creighton winning by 7 (85-78) and the game with pretty evenly matched but there was one thing that stuck out to me. Xavier had 19 points off Creighton’s 9 turnovers, that’s a bucket every turnover and for a team in Creighton that only turns it over 10 times a game I don’t see Xavier repeating this success off the turnover.

Lastly, although Creighton is just 7-5 in their L12 games they have been a little unlucky. Besides the blowout loss the UConn (14 points) all other 4 losses have come by 5 or less points or in overtime. Even on the road and inside of a rough stretch I think Creighton is the better team here and should take home the win this afternoon. GL.
