Backing the best team in the country in what is the best game of the weekend by far and may be the best game of the year in college hoops. The line is crazy that UConn is such a huge favorite against a very good Marquette team but it makes sense. UConn has been dominate all season and I’m expecting them to keep rolling at home.
At 23-2 on the year and dropping just two games which came on the road. At Kansas and at Seton Hall, other than that they have been a unbeatable especially at home where they are 23-0. Ranking 25th on offense and 18th on defense this UConn team has zero flaws, scoring 85+ PPG and allowing just 61 PPG at home.
Marquette has looked very good recently winning 8 of their L8 games and I may agree with some that taking Marquette and the points would be the play because I think they’re good enough to keep this close but UConn has just been so good I can’t fade them.
UConn has won their last 13 games and has won 9 of those 13 by 9+ points. The Huskies are coming off two dominate wins against Georgetown and DePaul, winning by 25 and 36 points. UConn has just been too good recently and during the L13 games for me to fade them even as a huge favorite.
The second leg of this parlay includes South Carolina off a blowout loss the Auburn on Wednesday. I think this is a perfect spot to back them in a bounce back game against a bad LSU team. LSU has lost 6 of their L7 games and are just 1-6 on the road this year. Ranking an abysmal 335th in the country in road defense allowing 83+ PPG and allowing 80+ in 4 of their L5 games.
Even with such a bad defense this won’t be a track meet as South Carolina has one of the slowest paces in the country but they are effective. Before the loss the Auburn USC won their L7 games with wins at Tennessee and against Kentucky by a combined 21 points.
South Carolina is a better team than they showed against Auburn and I think we are getting them at a cheaper price than they should be. Like the gamecocks to bounce back this afternoon. GL.
