Let me start off by saying the odds for this bet low key kind of suck but I think the value we are getting is insane.

I haven’t been this excited for a soccer game in a long time. We get to see the winners of the La Liga and Champions League add the best player in the world to their attack, how could you not be excited.

Real Madrid already has the front runner for the Ballon D’or on the left wing in Vini Jr and is now adding Mbappe to the front of their attack, awesome stuff if your a soccer fan.

Now let’s get into why I took this bet. As discussed in the intro, the odds for this are not idea but we are getting great value in my opinion. Madrid is expected to have the best attack in the world and it’s not even close.

Vini Jr had 21 goals combined goals (UCL and La Liga), Rodrygo had 15 goals in those combined leagues and now they’re adding Mbappe who had a combined 35 goals between the Ligue 1 and UCL. The hopes and floor couldn’t be higher for this front three, all going to depend on how they can play together.

Just like any sport trying to justify a wager in the beginning of the season is always difficult because there is no data to back any of your claims, only thing you have is last years numbers which don’t always correlate. I’m going to give them to you anyways.

Madrid scored 2+ goals in 13 of their L18 games to finish out the 23/24 season. They also scored a combined 22 goals in their L6 games of that same season including the Champions League final.

Madrids numbers were world class last season and they were the best team in the world. They now add the best attacker and best overall player in the world to their offense and it should be nothing short of fireworks. The line at -190 is steep but based off the way they finished last season and the current health of their roster this number should -250 or worse. We are getting a steal even at -190.

I like Madrid to start off the season with a bang. GL.
