The first week in the NFL ends with a banger in San Fransisco between the Jets and the Niners. I feel I may be falling into the Aaron Rodgers trap and passing up a great opportunity on the Niners, but I don't care. This Jets team can match San Fran on every level.

With Rodgers back in the lineup for the Jets I feel they are equally as good or better on every level of the game when being compared to the 49ers. At quarterback, even at his old age I feel Rodgers is better than Purdy, at running back, many are going to hate me, but Hall can go toe to toe with McCaffery, Niners may have a slight edge in receiving but it's not by much, and the Jets are a better defensive team.

I think based off what I just said the line tonight of 4.5 is pretty fair. Niners get 3 points for being the home team and the extra 1.5 comes with the slight edge they have in offensive weapons.

Being the first game of the season and first full game for Aaron Rodgers (hopefully), we don't know truly what to expect. What I can expect though is a great game by the Jets secondary. Last year they allowed a 2nd best 168.3 pass yards per game, just behind the Browns. I think if New York can limit the Niners in the air they will have a better chance at stopping the run and McCaffery, who will eat them up if not.

This is a Jets team that still won 7 games with Wilson, Boyle and Siemian at quarterback. With Rodgers behind center, they can easily fight for the division and a playoff spot. Playing in San Fransisco for the season opener will be tough and I hate that I'm buying into this Jets line, but I think this team is much better than what they showed last season. The defensive will play well, and Rodgers will help elevate Wilson and Halls performances.
